Project Description
A prestigious commercial to residential conversion project at the former Impact House in Croydon. The existing 16-storey structure consisted of vacant office space, with a working Primary Care Trust (PCT) Centre on the ground floor. Floors one to sixteen were converted to high specification residential dwellings, providing 235 apartments, a new entrance lobby , gym and roof top garden. All works were undertaken whilst the PCT remained fully operational. In addition to the internal refurbishment, the project included the replacement of the façade, roofing, windows and the relocation of all plant to the roof area (incorporating new risers and distribution of services).
The site is situated on Edridge Road which is the slip road to the Croydon flyover. Transport and planning restrictions necessitated a ‘just-in-time’ methodology for all site deliveries, outside of peak hours, to ensure that the local road network was not adversely affected.
The project reached practical completion in April 2019.
