Promoting construction careers for the next generation

On Wednesday 18th October, a team from ARJ supported the St George’s Catholic School careers fair in Maida Vale, London.

The careers fair was open to all St George’s students in years 9-13.  ARJ provided information on the diverse selection of careers available in the construction sector ranging from the project teams to creative elements, finance and IT. As one the largest employment sectors in the UK, we focussed on potential career paths by illustrating some examples from our existing staff, who joined ARJ as graduates or through trainee/apprenticeship schemes.

This activity was the first of several initiatives that ARJ are investing in with St George’s School, whilst we are undertaking a £5.8m refurbishment and extension project at the school.  Future events planned include regular informative site visits for students and talks from our staff at the school’s Future Finders Club.

The St George’s Catholic School refurbishment and extension project commenced in Summer 2017 and will complete in November 2018.

“Thank you very much for attending our careers fair yesterday.  I am glad that you stimulated interest in construction and it would be great if we could take that further.”
