Show Some Love!

Did you know …

There are around 7.6 million people living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK. It is the cause of around 25% of all deaths; that’s more than 160,000 deaths each year, or 460 each day – that’s one death every three minutes.

High cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, smoking and physical inactivity can all play their part in contributing to these figures, but family history, air pollution, stress and mental health can also be factors.

Looking after ourselves is of paramount importance and taking simple steps to reduce our chances of suffering heart disease should be high on all our agendas. Here’s a few ways we can help ourselves:

Eating a healthy, balanced diet
Being more physically active
Maintaining a healthy weight
Giving up smoking
Reducing alcohol consumption
Keeping blood pressure under control
Keeping diabetes under control
Taking any prescribed medicines

1 in 3 construction workers suffer anxiety, which can lead to heart disease. We at ARJ wanted to show our support for the National Heart Month campaign and the British Heart Foundation so our employees have been busy this February ‘showing some love’.

A big thank you to all those involved!
