Brook Meadows Tree Planting Ceremony

Last week the sun shone brightly on the site team, staff and residents at Brook Meadows, Southend. With the newly built care home complete, the previous home demolished and the cleared site landscaped, a ‘tree planting ceremony’ was organised by Contract Manager Ben Deakin.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ben explained “Sadly the existing magnolia tree did not survive the demolition, and so we felt it right to source a replacement and plant it centre stage in the beautiful new garden for the residents to enjoy.”

The Magnolia Tree – Heaven Scent, was chosen for its highly fragrant, soft pink flowers and was helped into position by some of the care home’s key staff. First to take the shovel was activities leader Norma Reader, followed by housekeeper Theresa Harvey and general manager Luke Baldock, with the final spade being given to maintenance man Steve Becks.

After the ceremony, a chorus of thanks were shared, with Luke Baldock saying “Many thanks to ARJ for the donation of the tree, it’s very much appreciated and will be enjoyed for years to come.”
